Viola Crown Blended Mix Seeds

Viola Crown Blended Mix is a cottage garden flower if ever there was. The Viola differs from the Pansy in having smaller flowers on more compact plants and in being very free-flowering. On this latter point, they will start blooming in early spring and, if dead-headed regularly, will continue far into the autumn.

A colour blend guaranteed to catch the eye where ever it is planted! A stunning colour mix for creating effortless hanging baskets and container displays. Compact plants require little maintenance, with cold-hardy blooms standing up to the worst of the British weather. height and spread: 20cm.

Adds a splash of colour to salads, desserts and baking with its edible flowers.

Seed Quantity: Approx. 200 seeds per pack.
When to Sow: Sow indoors Mar - Sep
Site Conditions: Prefers humus-rich, moist but well-drained soil in full or partial sun. Water well until established. Violas are cool weather plants, they thrive in full sun due to the light offered rather than the heat given. High temperatures can be offset with regular watering. Requires little attention.
How to Sow: Spring sow for flowers the same year. Autumn sow for flowers the following year. Autumn sow under glass. Fill a pot with 90% moist compost 10% sand. Sow 5mm deep and cover lightly with soil. Ideal temp. 15-20°C. Spring sowing as above. Germination takes 2-4 weeks approx. When seedlings have 2 true leaves transplant to 8cm pots. Acclimatise and plant out after danger of frost has passed.
Flowers: July-September - about 2-3 months from sowing dependent on weather.
