Wasabi Rocket Seeds
This trendy Wasabi Rocket actually has the punchy flavour of Wasabi - a Japanese vegetable much like horseradish. Real Wasabi is a root veg that is very difficult to grow in the UK climate so this little leaf helps fill a gap and companies like Wagamama use it to flavour Japanese dishes.
It is quick growing and makes an excellent babyleaf/microgreen and larger edible leaf for use in Japanese dishes, Asian cuisine or just to pep up a mixed salad. Babyleaf will be ready to pick in about 30-35 days from sowing.
Wasabi Rocket can be grown like cress on cottonwool and snipped as required or sown into a tray of compost and covered with vermiculite to make it easier and cleaner to grow. It can also be sown outdoors from April to August where it can be picked at every stage up to mature rocket leaf. It is a cut and come again variety and can be picked 3-4 in its life time, just pick a few leaves off each plant and allow others to grow on.
A trendy edible rocket leaf that can be picked from microleaf, babyleaf or a larger rocket sized leaf with the unusual fiery flavour of wasabi. Easy to grow and packs a peppery full flavoured punch.
